Lunchtime: Postcards from Central Pennsylvania

Hello!

Here I am, still digesting a succulent piece of prime rib roast from Doc Holliday's at 12:30 am...and thought of sending you some postcards of lunches I had since arriving here 4 weeks ago. Has it been that long?

Thanks to the very hospitable colleagues, lunches have been great - subs, strombolis, (gigantic) burritos, pastas, salads, pizzas, Chinese buffets, crab cakes, etc. With such good food and company on a daily basis, it's no wonder that previous visitors unawarely brought back a few pounds with them. Resistance is futile, especially when the menus are larger than life. So just EAT, I'd say.

Recently, the rain and breeze had brought comfort to the hot summer days. And of course, there are the bottomless unsweetened iced tea and lemonade for some instant cooling.

I've also been to a couple of awesome cities and will write more about them when I can. In the meantime, take care and I'll see you soon.

Wish you were here...

minchow, yupe! more coming up! i dig the big portions too, which really justify the price tag. and some come with free flow of salad and soup. hooray!

kenny, wahhhh, i'm touched! glad to have met up (well, for a whole 15 mins la...hehe) before i flew to the US. must meet up when i get back! ;D

choi yen, omg, you have a very good point! i didnt even realise that! so, that's less carbo, more fibre, i guess? hehehehehe....good stuff!

qwazymonkey, the portions sure are ginormous. haha. but i take lots of raw vege and fruits in between. i think that helps...hehehe.

Mmmmmm reading this post in the morning is like having breakfast all over again. Looking at all that reminds me of man vs food! How do you stay so trim HB?! Shouldn't you be three times your size??!! Can you tell how envious I am?!

So much porky goodness, at inflated portions. You're a lucky devil you.
You're there for holidays or work? Or you're permanently there now?

Pulled pork means that the pork meat is pull out slices by slices using hand?

paprika, oh yeah, i had man vs food on my mind too, every time i was served with those huge platters! well, in my case, 'food' wins every time. haha! trim? lol! project upsize hairyberry has been progressing well ahead of schedule! ;D

j2kfm, haha, no lah. i'm only here on business trip. inflated! now that's the right word to it! i like the fact that salads come it that portion too. a balancing act, i guess...hehe.

simon, i think pulled refers to tenderizing pork to a soft, flaky texture so that it can be broken or "pulled" easily. it's especially good with a good gravy.
*salivating*

leon, thanks for stopping by. cool, i'll go check it out! ;D

cumi and ciki, awwwww, nice of you to say that! ;D i'll be back soon! ;D haha, those pics were taken with my iphone. i thought i should spice up them pics with some effects la. badly done hor? hehehe.
